Very plain, simple, streamlined story but yet very special.
LOVE STORY explores the reminisces of a young widower Oliver Barret as he gazes back to his short past experience with his wife Jennifer Cavilleri.
The two persons meet & fall in love. Although they marry, at the end she dies when they plan to get a child.
Author’s inclusion of comic touch to the characters gives a delightful taste of humour to the story . The dialogue is too funny, quick, & fresh. Emotions, seemingly small have been beautifully magnified & each word reflects the happiness of their young love.
But the epilogue of the story confused me a lot & left many questions about Oliver unanswered. At the end oliver makes a strange, hazy remark “that he would be alive if his wife were still alive”.
Though many contemporary books & movies has been released with similar kind of story, LOVE STORY has been kept aside from all of them & resides in the reader’s heart & this is what makes LOVE STORY simple yet special………..
ENJOY..
